Student Tax Advice
It all depends on how much you earn in total during the tax year (6th April until the 5th April the following year).
If you earn below the tax free allowance (currently £6,475) then you should pay no tax. If you have paid any tax you can claim it all back. If you earn above the tax free allowance you should be paying some tax.
